Therapeutic Arts and Enrichment Programs
The creative spirit is as the heart of our approach to healthy aging.
The Hebrew Home at Riverdale’s Therapeutic Arts and Enrichment Programs delivers innovative programs and services designed to enrich the quality of life of our residents and the growth of our vibrant and supportive resident community empowering our residents to live life fully. Through the shared cultural experiences of dance, art and drama therapy residents discover a wide range of hidden talents, forge new friendships and find an invigorated zest for life.
One of our most meaningful experiences was the collaboration between our Therapeutic Arts Professionals and New York University’s Steinhardt Drama Therapy Program. It culminated in the production of “The Birds” by Aristophanes. It was a resounding success with audiences.
“Working on the Birds was fabulous. I got to know people I never would have known. We had a sense of accomplishment and pride. It’s not every day that you get to do something so positive and productive. I want to do it again and again.” – Chip Reis: King Terus, Dramaturg
