Our program is the first of its kind in the United States, offering overnight respite care for adults with severe sleep disturbances caused by various forms of dementia

Between the hours of 7:00PM and 7:00AM, our caring and highly trained staff provides the full range of care to patients from the Bronx, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and lower Westchester.


Program Highlights

  • Overnight respite program with medical/clinical services, including:
    • Medical nursing
    • Medication dispensing and wellness monitoring
    • Physical and occupational therapies
    • Assistance with bathing, grooming, and eating
  • Social and recreational activities, including:
    • Gardening and horticulture
    • Local entertainment
    • Arts and crafts
    • Exercise programs
    • Yoga/Tai Chi
    • Reminiscence groups
    • Focused sensory stimulation
    • Music, aroma, touch, and aqua therapies
    • Drama, theater and storytelling

All clients are provided nutritious meals and snacks, as well as door-to-door transportation. We accommodate English, Spanish, and Russian languages.

Frequently Asked Questions

+ How can I get my family member into the program?

We would be happy to set you up to come in for an assessment with one of our nurses to see if your family member qualifies. An annual medical is required as well.

+ Where is the program located and what does it cost?

We are located on the campus of the Hebrew Home at Riverdale at 5901 Palisades Ave, Riverdale, NY and our daily rate is $265.

+ What kind of training does the staff have?

All staff is trained to work with the Alzheimers/Dementia population. Our staff includes a registered nurse, certified nurse’s assistant (CNA), physical/occupational therapist, and licensed dietician.

+ What types of activities are provided?

We will provide a full day of stimulating and fun social activities such as art and craft/exercise/music and dance.

+ Whats included in the cost?

Round trip transportation, meals( breakfast/lunch/snack) and activities.

+ How is the program paid for?

We accept Medicaid, various managed long term care plans such as Guildnet, ICS, Archcare, Village Care, RiverSpring at Home, Intrega and private pay.
