  • Reviews, verifies, and maintains the accuracy of all diagnostic information contained in the member’s electronic medical records via Lychee and diagnostic information provided in the UAS-NY.
  • Ensures coding consistency between internally maintained electronic medical records and DOH reported diagnostic information.
  • Assesses coding done by nurses to ensure there are no discrepancies and/or incorrect coding between Lychee and UAS-NY.
  • Efficiently communicates via e-mail with nurses to provide any necessary clarifications and education about coding corrections.
  • Conducts audits for missed charges and records information.

An excellent full time position is available with flexible hours for an attorney at The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Center for Elder Justice, the nation’s first comprehensive shelter for victims of elder abuse, located in the Hebrew Home at Riverdale by RiverSpring Health.

Candidates must have a JD and be admitted to practice in the State of New York. Experience in elder abuse and/or domestic violence or victim advocacy is preferred.

The successful candidate will play an active role in our dynamic multi-disciplinary team; interact with shelter clients providing ongoing legal services; respond to referrals of elder abuse; and coordinate and provide outreach and training of elder abuse educational programs. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills are also required.

This attorney will be required to appear in different courts throughout the boroughs of New York City and Westchester County, working to develop legal strategies for each client and collaborate with law enforcement and other area agencies and organizations. Responsibilities for this position will include arranging day to day scheduling, monitoring and coordinating staffing on each of the nursing units working in collaboration with Nurse Managers. Overseeing and tracking staff vacation, holiday and time off requests, communicating approved schedules to the nursing staff and arranging and coordinating temporary agency coverage for units as required.
